Envision Peru is located in the city of Trujillo. Our goal is to connect North America and South America and together work in compassion and construction ministries. We are firm believers in building relationships with the nationals at building projects and ministry sites. All these work projects are nicely mixed with cell group ministries, Compassion International opportunities with children, evangelism, and church growth.
Inca Link, as an organization, started in Peru after a small group trip to the garbage dump in the outskirts of the city. Since then, we have started multiple ministries focused on reaching the poorest of the poor in these communities. We have seen a lot of fruit come from them, including welcoming volunteers who completed our programs as children and seeing more children from the area graduate from high school and even college!
Those who serve with us on a short-term team will be exposed firsthand to the poverty in the garbage dump and will assist our ministries with English classes, VBS-like programs with the children, construction projects, and sharing God's love with the kids and their families. Interns that choose to serve in Peru with us will spend their time assisting our ministries in Trujillo with lesson plans and VBS-like programs for the children, and discipleship development. Peru is also one of the destinations on our gap year program, Link Year.
Peru is a country rich in tradition and diverse cultures. Most Peruvian people are Mestizo, which is a combination of European ethnicities. Their complicated history is deeply ingrained in Peruvian philosophy, from family structure to religion. The main religion is Catholicism.
