Facing the Unfinished Task in Japan. Less than 1% of Japan's 124 million people are followers of Christ, making the Japanese one of the largest unreached people groups in the world. Some sources suggest that less than 1% of Japanese Christians are under the age of 25, leaving an aging congregation with no one to pass the baton to. In this fast-paced, competitive culture, many Japanese get lost in the stress of cultural expectations and hopelessness. Envision Japan desires to work alongside local ministries to engage with young people, make disciples and develop the next generation of Christian leaders.
Current Engagement Opportunities include:
• University classes and Events
• ESL programs for kids and adults
• Para-church ministries (youth groups, holiday events, and Evangelism ministries)
The Alliance has been serving in Japan for over 100 years, tilling the soil for a harvest that has not yet come. However, in the last few years, workers have been seeing a shift and draw of the Japanese towards Christ, a softening of hearts, and an influx of workers being called to Japan. The Holy Spirit is at work, and the harvest appears to be ripening. Join in on what God is doing in Japan and help us plant seeds of hope.
